The Importance of Queer Reiki and Queer Healers

I understand how important it is that you find practitioners who affirm your lived experience. That’s why creating a welcoming, safe, confidential and empathetic space for everyone, especially fellow queers and those who identify within the LGBTQIA2S+ umbrella is at the core of my practice. Many queer people have found much relief in working together.

When a person’s lived experience and identity deviates from the white hetero-mono- normative scripts, it can be difficult to find practitioners who do not negatively judge or pathologize them.

I know how frustrating and demoralising it can be to seek care and support in a world that so often denies or suppresses queer people’s existence, let alone empathise with us. This sentiment also extends to BIPOC, kinky people and those who practice BDSM, and/or practice polyamory, non-monogamy or alternative styles of relationships. Unfortunately, this type of judgement and poor treatment can lead many folks to not seek help, support or care.

This isn’t to say that those who fall within the white, cis-, male-, hetero-, and/or mono- normative descriptions are not welcome here, far from the truth. I have much empathy and compassion for them as well and they are equally welcome here. I only want to make it clear that my work, background and space is inherently queer and is extra sensitive and affirming to queer, BIPOC and polyamorous/non-monogamous folks.

Non-discriminatory and respectful treatment should be possible for all.
